Wands from Purelight are used to sterilize “high touch points” in the hotel such as telephones, clocks, light switches, door handles, bathroom fixtures and common areas that can be difficult to clean with traditional cleaning supplies.
These black lights are used for training purposes and as part of the housekeeper inspection process to detect any biological matter, food particles and more that the human eye cannot see.
These unique, seamless remote controls are designed specifically to make it easy to clean and disinfect before each guest stay.
Extra pillows and blankets are wrapped in 100 percent recyclable and biodegradable single use wraps to ensure guests know that these products have been cleaned just for them.
Our "green" initiatives are designed to help preserve precious natural resources, reduce waste, promote energy efficiency and encourage recycling.

Because of our demonstrated commitment to preserving Vermont’s environment, the Best Western Plus Windjammer Inn has been recognized by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation and the Small Business Development Center as a Green Hotel in the Green Mountain State. The initiatives that we have in place include but are not limited to:
Laundry operations currently account for almost one quarter of all water consumed in a typical hotel and 17 percent of the hot water annual heating costs. Hotels that install ozone systems in their laundry facilities will experience more productivity in their laundry operations. Shorter dry times, fewer chemicals, less water, electricity and natural gas are some of the benefits of ozone systems.
We saved 7958 bottles of glass cleaner, bath cleaner, air freshener and all-purpose cleaner from going into the land fill - Also, the packaging from the bulk product becomes completely flat after use and takes less room in the big picture.
We are re-using/re-cycling these resources that have been recovered rather than thrown away instead of using virgin resources such as live trees for paper
We purchase recycled toner cartridges whenever possible and send our cartridges back out to be recycled when we are finished with them. We recycle approx.. 15-20 cartridges per year.
By providing 12 complimentary newspapers at the front desk for guests to take or share instead of leaving a newspaper at every door, we save 13,870 newspapers per year.
